How I started Surfing
I grew up spending my summers swimming alone at the beach near my home. One day, under a black flag warning, I saw something that would change my life forever. While I wasn’t allowed to swim, a few people entered the water with surfboards. I asked the lifeguard why—and his answer was simple: “They’re surfers.
From that moment, I was hooked. I wanted to understand what surfing was all about. Soon after, I joined a local surf association, got my first shortboard, and caught my first wave in 2006. Surfing in Morocco wasn’t very common back then, but I learned in the powerful waves of Tantan Beach, building experience with every session. And the best twist? That same lifeguard who once yelled at me became one of my closest surf buddies.
Surfing has been part of my life ever since—and it all started with that one word: surfer.

The story of Zeri Surf Camp began in 2006, on the Moroccan coast of Aglou, long before surfing became popular in Morocco. It was there that Zéri fell in love with the surf lifestyle. Surfing wasn’t just a sport — it was the path to building the life he had always dreamed of. He started small, offering surf experiences in his hometown, and soon realized something bigger was calling: Taghazout, the heart of Moroccan surf culture.

The dream of having a surf camp truly began to take shape when Zéri met Jaime, a Spanish traveler in search of new waves and deeper meaning. Their connection was instant — a friendship built on the ocean and a shared vision. Together, they decided to create something different: not just another surf camp in Taghazout, but a soulful Moroccan surf retreat where health, focus, and community come first.
That’s how Zeri Surf Camp Morocco was born — a place built with passion, dedication, and soul.
